Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Gamma Nu Omega Chapter of Columbia, South Carolina, has a proud history rooted in scholarship, service, and sisterhood. Since 1942, Gamma Nu Omega has remained committed to serving the Columbia and greater Midlands communities.

It is my honor and privilege to serve as the 2025–2026 President of Gamma Nu Omega Chapter. Service and sisterhood have been cornerstones of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority since its founding in 1908, and our members continue that legacy through meaningful programs, community partnerships, and a commitment to excellence.

With more than 400 active members, Gamma Nu Omega is home to a distinguished legacy of leadership, including three former members of the International Board of Directors:

·         Dr. Earnestine Green McNealey, International Assistant Secretary and Editor-in-Chief®

·         Mrs. Odessa Nelson (deceased), 5th South Atlantic Regional Director

·         Mrs. Sharon Brown Harriott, 18th South Atlantic Regional Director

Today, we continue to build upon this legacy as we are Standing on Business and Serving Together.

The members of Gamma Nu Omega are committed to advancing the programs of our International President, Charletta Wilson Jacks, under the theme “Championing Service, Empowering Sisterhood and Transforming the World.”

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is dedicated to cultivating and encouraging high scholastic and ethical standards, promoting unity and friendship among college-educated women, addressing challenges affecting girls and women, maintaining a progressive interest in college life, and providing “Service to All Mankind.”
